The Winds of the Mountain Empire, a 58-piece wind ensemble primarily comprised of music educators, will present its nineteenth annual summer concert in the auditorium of Union High School in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, on Sunday, July 13, at 4:00 p.m.
The 2025 Winds of the Mountain Empire program is entitled “Highland Echoes.” The concert will feature compositions by Malcolm Arnold (Four Scottish Dances), Percy Grainger (Irish Tune from County Derry and Shepherd’s Hey), Donald Sorah (Radiant Revelry), Ralph Vaughan Williams (English Folk Song Suite), Bill Whelan (Riverdance), and John Williams (Far and Away).
