Historic Cemetery Preservation Workshop

The Lee County Historical and Genealogical Society is pleased to co-host with the Southwest Virginia Museum Historical State Park a Historic Cemetery Preservation Workshop on Saturday, April 18, from 1-4 PM.
This workshop will be taught by Burke Greear at the Jonesville Cemetery, Main Street on Route 58, in Jonesville. This will be a hands-on workshop to learn intermediate gravestone and monument preservation techniques, including:
Cleaning dirt and biological growth
Resetting tilted stones
Repairing or rejoining fractured stones
Resetting tilted stones
Repairing or rejoining fractured stones
This workshop will be held rain or shine, so please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress for outdoor activity.
Cost: $30 per person (all materials will be provided)
