PENNINGTON GAP MAN SENTENCED TO SERVE 10 YEARS IN METHAMPHETAMINE CASE
Jonesville, Virginia: Commonwealth’s Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin announced today that Dean Woolwine, of Pennington Gap, has been sentenced to serve 10 years in the Virginia Penitentiary for the distribution of methamphetamine and oxycodone. This term of active incarceration is to be followed by three of probation.
According to Cridlin, Woolwine was convicted of three counts of distributing controlled substances, including methamphetamine and oxycodone, with the offenses occurring between March 7 and March 12, 2025.
Cridlin expressed his appreciation to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Virginia State Police, and Lee County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation and collaboration in bringing the case to a successful conclusion, specifically commending Lt. Chris Dillman and Special Agent Kelly Harvel for their work on the case.
“Our partnerships with law enforcement are critical in identifying, investigating, and prosecuting those who traffic illegal drugs in our region,” Cridlin said. “This case is another example of the strong teamwork required to keep our communities safe.”
