JONESVILLE MAN SENTENCED TO SERVE TEN YEARS IN METHAMPHETAMINE CASE
Jonesville, VA: Lee County Commonwealth’s Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin announced Friday, December 13, 2024, that David Jones, of Jonesville, was sentenced by the Lee County Circuit Court to serve a total of ten years of active incarceration following his conviction on charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine. This term of active incarceration is to be followed by indefinite supervised probation. According to Cridlin, the Commonwealth’s evidence established that the defendant distributed, or conspired to distribute, approximately 110 grams of methamphetamine between November 17, 2023, and January 11, 2024. Cridlin released the following statement:
“Today’s sentence, ten years to serve, reflects the significant harm that methamphetamine distribution causes our community. I am grateful to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police, and the Southwest Virginia Drug Task Force for their thorough investigative efforts and consistent communication with my office throughout this case. I would also like to thank Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorneys Sarah H. Wynn and Don Williams for their hard work and dedication, which were critical to achieving this outcome.”
