PENNINGTON GAP MAN SENTENCED TO SERVE 10 YEARS IN METHAMPHETAMINE/COCAINE CASE
Jonesville, Virginia: Commonwealth’s Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin announced today that Rodney Homan, of Pennington Gap, has been sentenced to serve 10 years on multiple drug and firearm charges. This term of active incarceration is to be followed by five years of probation.
According the Cridlin, charges were brought after law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Homan’s residence. During the search, officers recovered methamphetamine and cocaine packaged for distribution, $861 in cash, and multiple firearms. An additional count of methamphetamine distribution was later added.
Cridlin praised the collaborative efforts of the Southwest Virginia Drug Task Force, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of Pennington Gap Police Department, giving particular recognition to Lt. Chris Dillman for leading the investigation, and Lt. Todd Jones, and Officers Ty Taylor, Chris Hill, Dylan Ball, James Adair, and Trey Parks for their assistance in the case and the execution of the search warrant.
Cridlin further praised Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Don Williams for his work in prosecuting the case.
Cridlin made the following statement: “We are grateful for the dedication of all officers and prosecutors who worked tirelessly to bring this defendant to justice. This sentence reflects the harm that trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine causes in our community.”
