LEE COUNTY MAN SENTENCED TO SERVE TEN YEARS IN FENTANYL CASE
Jonesville, VA – Lee County Commonwealth’s Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin announced on Friday, January 17, 2025, that Christopher Brown of Pennington Gap, Virginia, has been sentenced to 10 years of active incarceration for the distribution of fentanyl, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and possessing a firearm while in possession of a controlled substance. Following this term of active incarceration, Brown will be placed on indefinite supervised probation.
According to Cridlin, the Commonwealth established that between March 1 and March 7, 2023, Brown distributed fentanyl on three separate occasions, and on one occasion, was in possession of a firearm while trafficking the controlled substance.
Cridlin expressed his gratitude for the law enforcement agencies involved, stating: “I commend the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Southwest Virginia Drug Task Force, and the Virginia State Police for their tireless work in investigating and bringing this case to a successful conclusion, and for helping to eliminate deadly fentanyl from circulation in Lee County. I also want to
recognize Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Don Williams for the important role he played in this prosecution.”
