Wise County Social Services Director Under Review Following Arrests

The Wise County, Virginia Social Services Board is investigating allegations surrounding the executive director of the county Department of Social Services.

Susan Light is under review following her arrests for assault on two different occasions within the last three months.

Court records show Light was arrested last week in Sevierville, TN when police were called to a hotel in reference to a domestic violence situation.

The officer said he witnessed a man identified as Light's boyfriend Timothy Bolinskey standing over a small pool of blood on the floor and holding his finger.

Bolinskey told police that "the two had been drinking and was arguing about past experiences" when he said that Light bit his finger and smacked him in the face.

The report said that Light also had marks on her body that she said were from an attack from Bolinskey. The officer charged both with domestic assault.

Records from the General District Court in Wise County indicate Light was arrested for misdemeanor assault on Oct. 24 after a complaint was issued by Bolinskey.

No action has yet been taken in regard to Light's work status.
