Brandon Webb was convicted on two charges, receiving a 20 years sentence on a malicious wounding charge plus 9 years on abduction. This conviction centered on charges that Webb held the mother of his children against her will and attacked her violently. The formal sentencing hearing to determine whether or not to accept the jury’s sentencing decision of 29 years has been set for July the 29th.
One unique aspect of this trial was its setting. Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place, the trial was held at Slemp Auditorium at Lee High School to allow for all social distance guidelines to be adhered to. Special areas were set aside for witnesses outside with the Lee High School Band Room designated as the temporary jury room. Commonwealth Attorney Cridlin thanked the victim for her courage as well as the jurors for their service.
