Virginia State Police Searching for Farragut, Tenn. Man in Lee County, Va.

VSP is still searching for a man who fled during a traffic stop Thursday (April 2) in Lee County, Va.

At 6:02 a.m., Thursday, a Virginia State Police trooper initiated a traffic stop on a 2009 Honda Accord for speeding. The Accord pulled off of Route 58, just west of Jonesville, and in the process of stopping ran into the guardrail. During the course of the traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene on foot and ran up into the woods. State police K9 teams and aviation, with the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, immediately set up a perimeter to search for the subject.

Further investigation revealed the fleeing subject is Travis A. Hensley, 31, of Farragut, Tenn.

Multiple charges are pending at this time, as the search continues for Hensley who was last seen wearing a white ball cap and white jacket with jeans. He is a white male with short brown hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 160 lbs.
