Virginia Senate Vote on Abortion Ultrasound and Sen Bill Carrico’s New Project

The Virginia Senate has passed a measure that will require any woman who wants an abortion to undergo an ultrasound exam, on a vote of 21-19. The measure now heads to the House for concurrence. Republican Senator Bill Carrico voted in favor.
Carrico is holding a press conference today in Richmond with the Virginia Sheriffs’ Association to discuss a budget item that he says is “of critical public safety importance.” Senator Carrico is a retired state trooper.
