Virginia House/Senate News

The Virginia House and Senate voted to follow the recommendations of Governor Northam due to the pandemic to hold off on raising the minimum wage to May 2021 instead of January 2021. Also, both bodies also passed the casino bills with the governor recommendations.

Also, during this session, Speaker of the House Eileen Filler-Corn fainted at the podium. Capitol Police and Medical personnel assisted her and, after a short break, she was able to sit thru and preside over the remainder of the session.
