VDOT working continuously to keep up with winter conditions

Virginia Department of Transportation Wise Residency Administrator
Allan Sumpter says the four county area of Scott, Wise, Lee and
Dickenson counties were soaked but stable after flooding concerns on
Tuesday.

During breaks in the action in the winter months,
Sumpter said VDOT crews search out potholes for at least temporary fixes
to get through the rest of the season. More permanent repairs are
performed in the warmer months.

Sumpter says the cold patches
put in place during the winter months are only expected to hold up
through the rest of the season, and they must be (more permanently)
repaired through the spring and summer.
