Va DMV & Suspended Drivers Licenses

Good news for Virginian residents that have suspended driver’s licenses because of unpaid court debt, is that they should soon be getting a letter from the Virginia DMV on how to get their driver’s license reinstated.
Beginning July 1st, 2019 anyone whose license was suspended for failure to pay court fines and costs will have their driving privileges returned with the reinstatement fee waived. The new plan will also prohibit courts from suspending driving privileges solely because of unpaid court fees.
Of course this only enables a resident to get their driver’s license back, it does not negate the requirement to pay court costs and fees. For additional information, residents may contact their local DMV office.
