VA DGIF Says Watch Out For Deer On Roadways

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is reminding drivers to be cautious this time of year, as hunting seasons puts deer and bears on the move. Motorists are reminded to slow down at night and play close attention to the road and surrounding area, especially in deer crossing zones. Apply brakes or stop to avoid collision but never swerve. Any collisions with a deer or bear resulting in the animal’s death should be reported to local law enforcement where the incident occurred.
