Utah Concealed Weapons Permit No Use To VA Gun Owners

Many Virginia gun owners are looking to supplement a Utah concealed weapons permit as their VA permits will soon be invalid in many states. But, the office of Attorney General Mark Herring wants to emphasize that there is almost no value to a Virginia concealed handgun permit holder getting a nonresident permit from Utah.

The VA permits will be recognized in six less states beginning Feb. 1, but of that six the closest states to us are Florida, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, none of which recognize a Utah concealed weapons permit.

Authorities reemphasize there is almost no value to supplementing a Virginia permit with a Utah one, so people in Virginia shouldn't feel compelled to get one.
