Twin Toddlers Killed in Harlan County House Fire

According to the Kentucky State Police, twin toddlers were found dead inside a home that burned. The parents suffered life threatening injuries in the same house fire. They were first transferred to Holston Valley Hospital in Tennessee and then sent on to a Georgia hospital for treatment of their severe burns.
Officials state that autopsies will be conducted on the three year olds. The family house fire located in the Totz community off Route 522 of Harlan County was first reported late Monday morning. The toddlers however, were not found until half past six that evening, prior to that grisly discovery they had been considered unaccounted for. At the time of this report the cause of the fire is still under investigation and the names of those involved have not been released.
