According to Lee County Treasurer Rita McCann, tax tickets will be mailed today Tuesday October 10th. Also any payments made after Wednesday September 20th will not be credited on your tax ticket since the files had already been sent to the printer.
All Real Estate and Personal Property taxes are due Tuesday December 5th and must be either post marked by then or paid in the Treasurer’s Office by 4:30 p.m. that date, or at any Lee Bank by the deadline to avoid late fees.
All taxes and fees may be included in one check made payable to Lee County Treasurer. You may also take your tax ticket to any Lee Bank and pay there thru Tuesday December 5th 2017. Instructions are listed on the front of your tax ticket to pay by debit or credit card, they accept Visa, Discover and Master Card. You may also call 1-866-789-3527 to pay by phone. Be aware that there is a 2.40% charge of the total tax amount when paying by credit/debit cards or by phone. Another option is to pay online at https://lpn.paymentus.com/opt/stde/lcv.
By law all payments are applied to the oldest delinquent tax, if any. All delinquent taxes are subject to debt set off, DMVSTOPS as well as liens. For information on tax relief please contact the Commissioner of the Revenue’s office at 276-346-7721.
