Everyone is reminded to please be extra cautious of any phone calls, emails or text messages that you might receive, claiming to with the IRS. Always remember, the IRS will never call, text or email you in regards to your stimulus checks.
Who can you talk to about your stimulus check? The IRS has added 3,500 telephone representatives to answer some of the most common questions about Economic Impact Payments. However, the IRS has stated that telephone services and assistance will continue to remain limited and recommend that everyone continue to utilize the IRS website for updates, check your payment on the Get My Payment Tool, and use the Non-Filers tool if you don’t file income taxes.
If you’d rather speak with a live representative, you may instead phone the IRS Economic Impact Payment Line at 1-800-919-9835.
The Internal Revenue Service went on to add that many of the frequently asked questions concerning stimulus payments will be answered on the automated recording, and then you will be given the option to speak with a live representative. Please note that simply listening to the automated message may not result in actually speaking with a live representative, unless you select that option.
