Sheriff’s Report

During the month of June, the Lee County Sheriff’s Department dispatcher received more than 7,000 calls. Sheriff’s deputies responded to over 1,000 of those calls. Two hundred thirty-six calls were dispatched to the rescue squads, and 19 were received by the Volunteer Fire Department. Three hundred and ninety calls were dispatched to various local departments, including the Department of Social Services, Animal Control, VDOT, the State Police, and the Jonesville and Pennington Gap Police Departments.
Inmates from the Regional Jail collected a total of 860 bags of trash along the roadways and reserve officers for the Lee County Sheriff’s Department worked 144 community volunteer hours.
