Sheriff Parsons on Roadway Trash

Locally in the news, from a recent social media post from Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons to all area residents concerning trash along our highways and roads:
"I know that litter along the highway is very bad and a great concern to many citizens. I want to assure you that by utilizing inmates we are making every effort to clean up our roads. The Jail has temperature restrictions on when we can bring inmates out. So, we have to have the right conditions to pick up litter.
We have started at the Wise County line on Route 58A and are almost into Pennington Gap. We will continue on into Cumberland Gap. We will then pick up on the other main routes and move onto secondary roads after that. I understand everyone is frustrated, but I assure you we are working on it."
