Scott County’s Operation Eagle Eye

The Scott County Sheriff's Office has begun a new program entitled Operation Eagle Eye. This program is for the registration of resident's exterior surveillance systems with the county that would allow the Sheriff's Department to be aware of your system and use the recorded video for evidence in a criminal investigation if a crime should occur in your area and video has been recorded on your system.
Registration only permits law enforcement to know of the existence of your surveillance system so that if a crime occurs in the vicinity of your system coverage, you can be contacted to view the video. This does not allow any law enforcement to tap into your system, or force you to provide video recordings.
Registration of personal residences and businesses willl be filed and only accessible to law enforcement when investigating a crime. Surveillance video of roads can be extremely helpful. Information forms for the Operation Eagle Eye Program are available at the Scott County Sheriff's Office Mondays thru Fridays from8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the front desk.
