Scott County Sheriff’s Office Announces Officer Semper Replaced by Officer Apache

In the latest K9 update from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, it was stated that Officer Semper had some issues with his “bite work” and the vendor Vohne Liche Kennels recommended he be retrained and then assigned to a different handler in the future. Additionally they said that the vendor was “gracious enough” to replace Semper with Apache. Officer Apache is a more expensive replacement due to his advanced training but Vohne Liche Kennels are offering Apache at the same price as Semper.
Officer Apache is a Belgium Tervuren and is expected to be ready to begin work this week. Those concerned about Semper will be glad to know that he will continue his training and go on to be an asset to another agency.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to accept donations for Deputy Apache. They’ve already received a few donations for which they are grateful. If you are interested in helping by a donation of any amount, you can drop off your donations at the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. All donations will go directly to the fund for Officer Apache.
