Scott County Schools Return to Remote Learning

This week marked the return of two Scott County Public Schools to remote learning because of the recent increase of COVID19 cases in the region. This decision was made following a special Called Meeting of the Scott County School Board who voted unanimously to return Gate City High School and Gate City Middle School to remote learning.
At this time the plan is to return students to in-person learning at the end of next week on November 5, 2020. Only two schools have been affected by this decision, because of the fact that between these two schools ninety students have already been placed into quarantine.
According to Assistant Superintendent Jason Smith, parents and guardians of students in question will have been contacted. Smith went on to add that the school board will continue to track COVID19 within the school system and the county in general.
