Scott County Motorcycle Chase

On March 6th, 2019 at roughly 3:00 am, a Scott County Deputy observed a motorcycle with no working tail lights. There was a driver and a passenger on the motorcycle. When the deputy activated his lights and sirens, the driver of the motorcycle increased his speed to more than 80 mph in a 60 mph zone. During the pursuit the motorcycle drove down several back roads and ran a red light in Duffield. The driver of the motorcycle also swerved towards the deputy’s vehicle numerous times, almost striking him and forcing him to go off road.
The motorcycle then sped into Lee County. The deputy observed the driver knock the female passenger off the vehicle and onto the road. At this time the deputy ended the pursuit to assist the female. After removing her helmet, the deputy discovered a small wound on her head.
The motorcycle was discovered a short time later, and warrants have been issued for the driver.
