Scott County Humane Society Seeks Help

Because of the continuing delay in the opening of a new animal shelter last October in Bristol, VA all their stray dogs are being sent to the Scott County Animal Shelter which has kept the Scott County Animal Shelter straining at maximum capacity. Currently Bristol is paying for the extra help, but the additional animals are putting financial stress on the Humane Society's resources because of additional food and vet bills.
At this time the new shelter should be open by the middle of next month but until then they will continue to accept ten new dogs per month from Bristol.
Bill Denton from the Scott County Humane Society remind everyone they are always in need of volunteers, foster homes, and monetary donations. Individuals interested in volunteering, fostering or making a contribution can do so by clicking the handy link.
