Lee County Public School’s interim superintendent Michael Brickey resigned earlier this week. Brickey told WJHL that he mailed in his notice on Wednesday morning after he "had disagreements with some of the things that the school board was doing or not doing" and felt he had "no support from the school board".
Brickey says he'd "recommend that the school board go to some training on the protocol between the superintendent and the school board and the function of each group.”
He added that after 40 years of working in education, he looks forward to going back into retirement.
Lee County School Board member Ty Harber stated that Lee County is currently in the process of searching for a new superintendent.
