Rubber Bullet Takes Down Big Stone Gap Woman

A Big Stone woman is in jail after leading Lee County Va deputies on a car chase thru the county. According to Sheriiff Gary Parson, their department received a call of someone driving recklessly in the Walmart parking lot. Sheriff Parsons said officers pursued Melissa Holmes of Big Stone Gap into town and eventually police had to crash into her car head on to stop Holmes. There were no injuries sustained due to the crash. Sheriff Parsons said Melissa Holmes then got out of her car and threatened the officers while brandishing a gun, forcing the deputies to disarm her with a rubber bullet. Parsons said her gun was not loaded and that she will face multiple charges including brandishing a firearm and eluding police.
