Route 619 High Knob located in Scott County has been reopened to traffic after February flooding. The Virginia Department of Transportation or VDOT stated that Route 619 had sustained serious damage because of the heavy February rains, forcing VDOT to close the road until repairs could be made. Repairs included replacement of a drainage tile, removal of damaged trees and the slope under the road. Glass Machinery located in Jonesville was in charge of the repairs, which they accomplished in a week. Still ahead is a review by a geologist that will be brought in to verify if additional repairs may be needed.
