Reward for information on Eric Jones increased

The U.S. Marshals Service has increased the reward offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of Eric Monroe Jones who is wanted on murder charges in the death of his ex-wife.

The reward has been increased from $1,500 to $2,000.

Police have been looking for Jones since Monday, when they found the body of Janina Gina Lorraine Jefferson, 38, at the Appalachia water plant. She was shot at least once, according to Maj. Grant Kilgore. 

The couple's divorce was finalized in September. 

Citizens should call 911 or contact local law enforcement or the Wise County Sheriff’s Office at 276-328-3756 with information.

Jones is considered armed and dangerous. He should not be approached.
