Project Sticker Shock

Last week saw local communities in southwest Virginia join together in a coordinated effort to raise awareness and reduce underage drinking entitled “Project Sticker Shock”. The annual event in Lee, Scott, Wise and the City of Norton was hosted by the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), Bureau of Law Enforcement with the Concerned About Our Community Coalition, Planning District One and Frontier Health.
Local participants included Black Diamond Stores and FasMart Stores, with assistance from the City of Norton Police Department, Norton City Sheriff’s Department, Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Scott County Sheriff’s Department, Wise County Sheriff’s Department, and the Commonwealth Attorneys Offices of Lee, Scott and Wise Counties. Also participating were local High School students, prosecutors, victim advocates, law enforcement officers, and community volunteers.
