Police Arrest Pipe Bomb Manufacturers

In Wise County, Jerry Douglas Sam Hensley, 53, and William Stewart Winebarger age 50, both of Coeburn, have been charged after the discovery of pipe bomb building materials in their home. Each are charged with one count of manufacture, possess or use of a fire bomb or explosive devices and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon according to the town's police department.
After officers received information warning that the men had bomb making materials, local officers were allowed to search their home located on Crab Orchard Road according to the police report.
 An explosive ordnance disposal team sent from the Virginia State Police were called in to disarm two devices according to the report. While there investigators also discovered materials that appeared to be intended for use as shrapnel for the bombs.
Currently both men are in custody and being held in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail. They have been scheduled to be arraigned on charges on February 18th 2018 according to court sources.
