Two productions by The American Shakespeare Company will be at the Gilliam Center stage at the University of Virginia's College at Wise on October 25, & 26.
The productions are "Faustus" on Saturday, at 7:30 pm and “Much Ado about Nothing” will be staged on Sunday at 3 p.m. Both are free admission.

In Christopher Marlowe’s tale of the struggle between good and evil, Faustus sells his soul, not for riches but for knowledge and power. In his masterpiece, Marlowe conjures Helen of Troy, the Seven Deadly Sins, angels, demons, and Satan himself, before dragging Faustus to Hell.

“Much Ado about Nothing”

While the villainous Don John devises a scheme to shatter the nuptials of Claudio and Hero, the young lovers conspire to trick Beatrice and Benedick into admitting their much-denied love. In this powerful comedy full of sparkling wit, Shakespeare gives us the joy of love won and the ache of love lost. He makes us laugh and breaks our hearts, then magically puts them back together again.
