The Pennington Gap Town Council met for their regular monthly meeting yesterday. The council approved the town budget and payment of bills, as well as allowing the use of Leeman Field for the Chiari fundraising Walk set on September 26.
Crystal Ely presented students from the Pennington Middle School Family and Consumer Sciences class and the board agreed to donate the money to sponsor one student to go to the national competition in Washington D.C. on July 3rd.
The council is undergoing a review of the existing burning ordinances as well as property maintenance ordinances, which the town attorney will review and later present needed changes to the council at a public hearing.
The town will also allow the Annual Bikes, Barbecues, and Bluegrass celebration in Pennington Gap on September 19, with an official location to be determined later.
The town will hold an organizational meeting on July 1st at 10 a.m.
