Pennington Gap Man Killed in Car Accident

Officials have released the identity of the men that were involved in the fatal crash that occurred early Monday morning in Scott County, Virginia. The accident took place just outside of Gate City on US-23, when the vehicle hit a horse in the southbound lanes.
The driver was, Jackson Clyde Harless of Pennington Gap who was airlifted to the Bristol Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. His passenger was his 44 year old son Jackson Clyde Harless Jr, who was killed in the crash.
The horse also perished as a result of being struck by multiple vehicles, and the incident is still under investigation.
