Parsons and Cridlin on Lee High School Incident

Last week Lee County Commonwealth’s Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin and Lee County Sheriff Gary B. Parsons issued a joint Press Release statement regarding the alleged assault and bullying incident at Lee High School.
According to Parsons, they received dozens of inquiries concerning the alleged assaults involving Lee High School Students, of which one was alleged to have happened at the school on August 26th.
Following the incident, the School Resource Officer handcuffed the student and sought a petition for assault. Other incidents are currently under investigation.
The statement went on to add a request to remember that these incidents involve juveniles, and that posts on social media can affect the investigative process or potentially discourage victims from coming forward. Stressing that following their investigation, they will proceed with the appropriate remedies and punishments available through the juvenile court system.
