Operation Hands Across the Border

Local law enforcement from both Virginia and Tennessee got together to work across state lines to enable safer driving on our roadways as part of Operation Hands Across the Border. Last Friday law enforcement officers pulled over vehicles asking for identification, as well as checking on various traffic violations. Some people were caught on various charges and some of those with minor violations were given warnings.
Hundreds of law enforcement officer from regional departments join forces at the state lines to nab drunk drivers, speeders and others. According to Scott County Virginia Sheriff Chris Holder, several tickets were issued also some drug charges. Altogether numerous tickets were given out at area checkpoints thanks to the dedicated state and local police officers from Virginia and Tennessee.
