More information has surfaced on the voter fraud story in Lee County. Election registrar Patsy Burchett reported that a woman indicated she was not a felon in her voter registration application, but a check of the records showed she had been convicted of a felony. Commonwealths Attorney Stacey Estep Munsey was unable to give specifics of the case, but she did request that the state police handle the investigation. Munsey stated in a press release that if the investigation finds evidence of voter fraud, she will ask for a special prosecutor to be appointed to the case.
Russell County is also currently undergoing voter fraud investigations with less than three weeks until Election Day.
