National Get Outdoors Day at local State Parks

Natural Tunnel State Park

9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. All over park

National Get Outdoors Day is an event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun for families. Experience both traditional and non-traditional types of outdoor activities. Spend the day on a strenuous hike to a local naturally made water feature. If you are not in condition for a heart pumping thrill spend the morning floating down the Clinch River in kayaks looking at fresh water mussels. In the afternoon get low as you explore a world that lies just under your feet during one of our caving programs. And in the evening spend time enjoying the sunset over Rye Cove along the Fincastle Hayride. If you just have a short amount of time to spend outside, the park does provide a great playground in the picnic area equipped with a train, slides, and swings. For more information about specific program dates and times check out our events page http://tinyurl.com/j5npa4v. Come out and play today! Parking is $4 per vehicle.
