Local groups will be joining together with the Drug Enforcement Administration on September 26th for a national drug take back day. To combat the growing issue of prescription drug abuse in Southwest Virginia, residents can take their expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs to one of seven sites throughout Lee, Wise, and Scott Counties.
The Lee County site will be Food City in Pennington Gap.
In Wise County, visit Food City in Big Stone Gap, Walmart in Norton, Food City in Wise, or the Coeburn Police Department.
Scott County sites will be the Food City in Weber City and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office. The service is free and anonymous and no questions will be asked.
