Scott County officials have released more details about last week’s death in the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Duffield. 42 year old Jeffery Kilgore from Wise, died of blunt force trauma to the head, during a fight in a housing pod at the end of the inmates’ lunch hour. 21 year old Shannon Bellamy of Gate City, who is serving a three year sentence for carnal knowledge of a minor and drug distribution, has been charged. The altercation was reportedly captured on a surveillance video. Bellamy goes before a grand jury May 7.
