Former Virginia Governor Bob Mcdonnell was sentenced to two years in Federal prison in court on Tuesday, January 6 but says that he will appeal his prison sentence.
McDonnell is sentenced to prison time due to taking money and gifts in exchange for promoting a company's dietary supplement while he was in office.
McDonnell was facing up to 10-12 years in prison on 11 counts of public corruption but the judge lower the sentencing.
The former Governor has already said he will file an appeal. McDonnell is set to report to prison on Feb. 9.
