Mark Warner

Democratic Senator Mark Warner kicked off his campaign for a second term with a stop in Wise County on Wednesday night May 28th.

Warner was at the Slemp Student Center at the University of Virginia's College at Wise and did a webcast answering live questions that streamed to 158 campaign "house parties" in all of Virginia's 133 counties.

Warner stated that he believes in working in a bipartisan manner between all political belief and that Southwest Virginia is very important to him and starting his election campaign in Southwest Virginia is a tradition that dates back to his first run for office.

Warner also stated that he is wanting to push for more research in variety of clean coal technologies, and still have coal being used;  also while in Senate he worked to pass financial reforms, put controls on government spending and help improve military housing.
