Man wanted after high speed chase arrested when car breaks down

A Norton man has been arrested again after allegedly running from Gate City Police in a high-speed chase last week. 35 year-old Ace Rose attempted to evade police, reaching speeds of more than 90 mph before striking the median and hitting an occupied vehicle. Both drivers were taken to Holston Valley Medical Center, but Rose left during the night.

On Monday, an officer with the Kingsport Police Department spotted a man pushing a disabled vehicle off of Tranbarger Drive around 1 a.m. and stopped to assist. When the man seemed nervous, the officer asked his name and ran his information, discovering Rose was wanted on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in Scott County.

The charges include two counts of felony possession of schedule I or II narcotics, felony unlawful bodily injury, felony possession of a concealed weapon by a convicted felony, reckless driving/endangering life and driving on a revoked driver's license.

Rose had been on the run for a week.

He was booked into the Kingsport City Jail and is awaiting a court ruling to be extradited back to Scott County.
