Major Drug Roundup Focuses on Methamphetamine

According to the latest Press Release from Lee County Commonwealth Attorney H. Fuller Cridlin and Lee County Sheriff Gary B. Parsons, they’ve announced the charging of thirty-five individuals on a total of fifty-four counts of drug and weapons related offenses in Lee County, with the majority of charges related to the distribution and possession of methamphetamine.
“Meth has had a devastating impact on our community in recent years” said Parsons. “It is our number one priority right now; we want as many dealers off the street as possible.” Parsons added, “I am proud to be a part of this effort to make our community safer.”
Cridlin commended all the officers and investigators who worked with his office in recent weeks to present the cases to the Grand Jury. “This type of operation doesn’t just happen; it requires a lot of planning, preparation, and communication between many different agencies on both the investigative side and the prosecution side,” said Cridlin. “Today’s effort is the result of a lot of hard work, but our work is not done, and will not be done until each and every one of these defendants is brought to justice.”
