Local musician donates nearly $4200 to domestic violence victims

Lee County native Taylor Ray Holbrook made a generous donation to the Lee County Sheriff's Office for victims of domestic violence. Holbrook has been working hard as an independent country artist, living in Nashville for the last year. His donation came from proceeds from a song he released in October, titled "These Hands". The song is available on iTunes, Spotify, pandora, and Google Play amongst other streaming services.

Holbrook said he and two other writers wrote the song about a girl he knew who had been the victim of domestic violence. Fans from all over the world supported the worthy cause. Holbrook donated 50℅ of the songs' proceeds, which came out to nearly $4,200.

The county has seen an increase in domestic violence in recent years. Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons said the money will help domestic violence victims directly.
