LENOWISCO Wants Locals to Get Vaccine

With the restrictions lifted on who can get a COVID-19 vaccine, the LENOWISCO Health District is encouraging everyone in our area to schedule and receive their vaccine. All residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia, ages 16 and older are now eligible to schedule and receive their COVID-19 vaccination by a large and various means. This vaccination has been given to many all over the country but, in our area, the number of fully vaccinated residents is only at 22%. According to the Virginia Department of Health website, as of April the 27th, the actual numbers show that 5,164 Lee County Residents have been vaccinated with over 11 thousand doses administered. The CDC has released new guidelines lowering the mask restrictions on person who have been fully vaccinated making it easier for these persons to gather in small groups and participate in outside activities. It wont be long until it is time for a Memorial Day cookout so now is a good time to schedule your vaccine if you decide you want vaccinated.
