LENOWISCO Health District Update

The LENOWISCO Health District is working with community partners to update their existing plans in order to accommodate the governor’s recent announcement of the Phase 1B population expansion. However, at this time no additional vaccine has been allocated for this.
Health departments and area partners are only scheduling essential workers and those 75 and older, until such time as additional vaccines are allocated. Currently they are not able to schedule any appointments to anyone age 65-74 or those 16-64 with underlying medical conditions because they simply do not have the vaccine allocations for those groups of people.
Vaccinations for adults over 75 will be at area Health departments on Wednesdays from 8:30-4pm. Remember you must phone ahead to receive your appointment time. No walk ins will be accepted. You will be asked to provide personal identification showing age or date of birth as a requirement to be vaccinated. Vaccines are available to Virginia residents only and you must reside in the LENOWISCO Health District.
Community partners such as Food City, have not receive additional vaccine allocations for this week so will instead have very limited if any available until next week January 25th. Please note that this is beyond their control and beyond the control of the Health District. Community partners will resume vaccination appointments as soon as new allotments are provided to them.
