Lee High teacher found guilty for buying alcohol for minors

The Lee High teacher convicted in a bench trial of providing alcohol to underage students is appealing the judge’s verdict.

The Lee County clerk’s office told WCYB Autumn Middleton was found guilty on Tuesday of four misdemeanors for buying and giving alcoholic beverages to someone under the age of 21. One misdemeanor charge was dropped.

Middleton was sentenced to two months in jail and 200 hours of community service.

Virginia State Police started the investigation in February. They say the incidents did not take place on school grounds.
