Lee County’s Operation Keep ‘Em Warm

This year Blanket America will not be distributing much needed coats to local students due to funding issues. Fortunately Powell River Baptist Association (PRBA) has stepped into the vacancy to help with this community need and will be coordinating a community wide coat drive for Lee county students.

A meeting will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at the Powell River Baptist Association’s Ministry Center in Jonesville. This interdenominational endeavor entitled Operation Keep ‘Em Warm, will require the combined efforts of numerous individuals, civic groups, churches and organizations for the project to be successful.

Coats may be dropped off at the Powell River Baptist Association in Jonesville. Powell River Baptist Association is hopeful to announce additional drop off locations after their November 8th meeting.
Donated coats may be new or gently used and should be free from dirt, stains, odors and in good working condition ie zippers and such.

Interested individuals may call 276-346-1546  for more information, and if there is no answer, please leave your name, telephone number and reference the Coat Drive in your message.
