Lee County to Benefit from ARC Funding

Great news for listeners in Lee County is that $1 million in funding from ARC, or the Appalachian Regional Commission, is headed to southwest Virginia for water service improvements. Almost one hundred households in this area will soon be receiving much improved water service, thanks to some help from this million dollar grant.
Half a million dollars will be spent in Buchanan County for the purpose of an extension of the water line along Paw Paw road that will carry safe and dependable drinking water to sixty three households.
The remaining half million will be spent much closer to home, right here in Lee County for a water line extension project that will service thirty households in the Giles Hollow community of Lee county.
